Making outdoor eating and drinking areas ‘smoke-free’ is the focus of a recent draft proposal released by SA Health. South Australians are being asked for their views on the Smoke-Free Outdoor Commercial Eating and Drinking Areas discussion paper, which proposes prohibiting smoking in outdoor areas of hospitality venues where food and drink are served.

Queensland tourism will receive a major boost with 22 regional projects sharing almost $3 million, as part of the Government’s Contestable Grants Funding Scheme. Minister for Tourism, Jann Stuckey, said the grants would be used to leverage local tourism opportunities and support the Newman Government’s goal of doubling annual overnight visitor expenditure to $30 billion by 2020.

The second stage of Tourism Tasmania’s Go Behind the Scenery campaign was unveiled on Friday. The Minister for Tourism Scott Bacon said that the new marketing and advertising campaign builds on the resounding success of the inaugural campaign launched in March this year.
