Oncology Children's Foundation at 2010 Awards

The Accommodation Association is proud to support the Oncology Children’s Foundation as their charity of choice. This year $10,000 was raised for OCF through the sale of teddy bears at the Accommodation Association's annual Awards for Excellence. This is a sizeable increase on last year’s total figure. the Accommodation Association would like to say a great big “thank you” to all the finalists, guests, sponsors and RACV Royal Pines staff that bought teddy bears. Their generosity will assist OCF in making a difference to the lives of many children.

The Oncology Children’s Foundation (OCF) is an Australian charity dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancers. OCF raises money to fund research programs with the sole objective of finding cures for childhood, specifically those cancers with the lowest survival rates.

OCF are committed to giving all kids with cancer the opportunity to grow up and live their dreams.
  • EVERY YEAR over 700 Australian children are diagnosed with childhood cancer. 200 of these children will not survive.
  • CHILDHOOD CANCER is the most common cause of death from disease in Australian children.
  • NEUROBLASTOMA AND BRAIN TUMOURS are two of the most common and the most aggressive childhood cancers. Almost 50% of these children will not survive.
