The Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF) is a not-for-profit children's charity dedicated to finding a cure for sick and critically ill children suffering from cancer, leukaemia and other serious cancer related illnesses. In Australia today more children die of oncology related conditions than any other disease. Thirty years ago most children with leukaemia or other forms of cancer died. Thanks to vast improvements in diagnosis and treatment, the cure rate for many childhood cancers has risen significantly. However, one in four children still lose their battle. It is the cancers that remain difficult to treat that OCF is targeting. Survival rates for some cancers can be as low as one in ten. OCF is funding research programs that will change the outcome for these children. Finding the cure for these cancers is our only goal.
OCF is the major supporter of the Oncology Research Units at both The Children's Hospital at Westmead and The University of New South Wales.
